Slips, Trips & Falls at work

The workplace can be a dangerous place if your employer does not take care to ensure your safety and manage the actions of your colleagues properly.

Accidents can happen for numerous reasons such as something being spilled or dropped on the floor; poor housekeeping resulting in items or other hazards being left on the floor; the building itself may be poorly maintained which creates dangers for employees.

Employers have a duty under the Health and Safety at Work Act etc. 1974 to ensure their employees are kept safe from potential injuries. This duty was enhanced by The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999and The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992. The latter requires all floors to be suitable, properly maintained in good condition and kept free from obstructions or hazards.
