There are a multitude of reasons for making a Will and it is one of the most important legal documents you will ever sign.

As a firm of solicitors we believe that it is important that a Will is prepared by those who are legally qualified and trained in advising on Wills and related legal issues. Our solicitors been advising the people of Lancashire about Wills for over 200 years.

We also recognise that with so many demands on your time, you may not always be able to visit us to provide us with your instructions regarding your Will. That is why, in order to ensure you can have a simple Will in place easily, we have launched our Online Will Service.

This service allows you to put in place a simple Will using our online system. You can then print your Will at home and sign, following the clear instructions on how to do so.

Is it better for me to come in and see a solicitor?

In simple terms, yes.

Our Online Will Service is not designed to replace the bespoke advice and expertise that a solicitor can provide.

If any of these are applicable to you or your circumstances:

  • You are domiciled outside of England & Wales
  • You own property outside of England & Wales
  • You intend to leave England & Wales on a permanent basis
  • You have business or farming interests
  • You wish to leave land, buildings, a timeshare or intellectual property as a separate gift
  • You wish to benefit someone who has a learning disability and/or is in receipt of means tested benefits/state funding
  • Your estate is excess of the available Inheritance Tax allowances
  • You are excluding someone from your Will who might expect to benefit
  • You want to take steps in your Will to protect assets (asset protection, severance of a joint tenancy)

Then our Online Will Service is not for you and you should call our offices on 01695 574 201 to make an appointment.

However, if you only wish to put in place a simple Will then our Online Will Service can help you do that and give peace of mind to you and your family.
