Charity Will Month – Over £12,000 Raised for Ormskirk Civic Hall

This last few months we have helped raise the fantastic sum of £12,231.74 for Ormskirk Civic Hall by carrying out a Charity Will Month during November last year.

During November, we supported Ormskirk Civic Hall. Clients of Dickinson Parker Hill were able to have simple wills and codicils prepared for them and rather than paying the usual fee, they were asked to make a donation to the Charity Will Month scheme instead.

As ever, the scheme proved incredibly popular with many new clients taking the opportunity to put wills in place and at the same time help a local institution in the heart of Ormskirk. Dickinson Parker Hill have been running the Charity Will Month on an annual basis and since 2009 have raised over £92,000 for good causes that benefit the West Lancashire area.

Partner, Michael Prendergast, ‘We were very happy to help the Civic as they are based in the centre of Ormskirk and serve the local community. Many of our clients use the Civic and it’s nice to see how the efforts of all our staff during the Charity Will Month will benefit the local area.’

Liz Wainwright from Ormskirk Civic Hall said, ‘We were absolutely delighted to have been chosen by DPH as their charity this year. We are extremely grateful to them and their clients for supporting The Civic through Charity Will Month. The money raised will be used towards the refurbishment of our main hall.”

During a busy November, staff at the firm, Michael PrendergastAlexandra Kenyon, Allison McCormick, Joanne Owen and Alic Wright saw over 200 clients between them and were ably assisted by Pauline Winrow, Dawn Joyce and Lyndsay Burns in preparing the wills.

Partner, Michael Prendergast, said ‘The Charity Will Month has proved very popular with this year being the most we have ever raised in one month. We would like to thank all our clients for their support and I would also like to thank all our staff for all their hard work and professionalism in supporting the scheme.’
